Editing Services - "My Two Cents Worth!"
|
|
I charge a flat rate of two cents per word for a first edit and one cent per word for subsequent edits of the same material. So, for example, if you send me a 1,000-word article, I would charge you $20.00 for a first edit and $10.00 for a second or third edit of the same article. This starts to add up real quick if you're doing an 80,000 word novel so I do whole book rates on an individual basis. What I would need from you is the first chapter and also brief chapter summaries of the entire book. After we have agreed on a rate, I will draw up a contract for you. In fairness to both of us, payments for larger works would be made in installments throughout the editing process. I use "track changes" in Microsoft Word for editing.
